New Year's Eve
First I was doing nothing, which made me anxious and eager for plans. Then I was invited to Philly for the eve and next day mummer’s parade and accepted almost immediately - hey, plans! But then I got bogged down with sickness over my xmas week off, had the marathon travel day back to NYC, and a bit of the sickness remains. So I decided to stay in the city and contacted the two old...

Plan A: Fly to Charlotte, connect to LaGuardia (arrive 1:25pm on the day of doom)
Details of the Fail: The flight to Charlotte was fine. The flight to LaGuardia was delayed almost an hour because we needed to “defuel” the plane. They needed to remove fuel that had been put in for a longer flight. Are you friggin kidding me? We’re outside of Baltimore and put in a holding...
Chris Brown, Justin Bieber Song To Premiere On New... →
popculturebrain:
As per Brown’s tweet, “ME and @justinbieber got a BANGER/SMASH record for all the fans out there at the top of the NEW YEAR!!! 2011.”
Should Brown really be using banger/smash to describe his new song?
Hopefully this song won’t be as painful as the collaboration between his fist and Rihanna’s face. Too soon? Too much? But seriously, I’m surprised...
Oh Nyquil, how I have longed for your drowsying embrace.
Holiday cold
My body often interprets vacation to mean “acceptable time for immune system to collapse” and this Xmas week off is one such time. Sore throat Monday morphed into fever yesterday and sinus congestion today.
Intense consumption of: advil, halls immune boost lozenges, apple cider, black tea with honey, chocolate peppermint bark (a better tasting cough drop).

There's a first for everything
I am going to be flying home with a bag of mostly dirty laundry. I’ve had every intention of doing it…for the past two weeks.
There's no crying in advertising...
I had my review at work yesterday and it was more intense than I expected. As my account director predicted, I hardly heard the good things and was stuck on the one low score I received. I’ve gotten a LOT better about receiving criticism as I’ve gotten older but the basic issue has to do with part of my personality that’s getting in the way, which makes it particularly...
Notes
To the woman deafening herself with Sarah McLaughlan at the gym, you trying to lose some water weight by crying it off?
To my neighbor blasting John Legend “If you’re out there,” you won’t find her by turning it up any louder. I promise.
Parental Entertainment
My parents discovered speakerphone this weekend. Now they just need to figure out that 1.) leaving the room and 2.) yelling are not acceptable.

What would Sex and the City be like if Carrie Bradshaw biked everywhere and would repeat the same outfit for the entire weekend if it was Febreze’d correctly? We may be about to find out: Deadline reports that CBS has picked up the multi-camera comedy Two Broke Girls from Sex executive producer Michael Patrick King and comedian Whitney Cummings. Like King’s other show, it will follow women...
Life is good
Came home to the perfect part of the sex and the city movie, the last thirty minutes when all the loose ends get tied up. Had a good day to day even though I worked until 9. That’s when you know you love your job.
